We’re especially proud to have won the Scotland and UK wide Diversity and Inclusion award in the Celebrating Small Business awards, and the Microbusiness of the Year award by the Midlothian and East Lothian Chamber of Commerce.

Beyond Green - Annual Report 2024
Foreword by Paul Adderley and Lisa Kaiffer, reflecting back on 2024.
Our Accomplishments - we won 2 awards and settled into being a 4 Day Working week business.
Project Delivery Highlights - we continue delivering projects for the Business Energy Scotland programme, as well as delivering Net Zero projects to a wide range of clients.
We use a collaborative and grounded approach to support our clients towards Net Zero.
Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) - 2024 saw Phase 3 of the scheme, which introduced extensive reporting requirements.
We've continued collaborating with a broad range of businesses, including to develop a new service package for 2025.
We support digital transformation efforts by using carbon accounting software and digital whiteboard tools with clients.
Core Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS): We've mostly continued making progress towards our core SDGs, but as a small business, we have little control over some of our supplier emissions.
Target SDGS: We've continued making progress towards our target SDGs.
SDG Actions: We've identified key actions we can take towards our target SDGs.
Beyond Green and Net Zero: We support the move towards Net Zero through our client support, our advocacy in our networks, and holding ourselves accountable for our own emissions.
Our progress towards Net Zero: our carbon emissions decreased from 7.66 tCO2e in 2023 to 4.98 tCO2e in 2024
Accessibility: We're a Disability Confident Leader; in 2024, we reviewed our website and sourced document accessibility training.
Disability Confident Reporting - we're sharing some of the our mental health metrics, all of which are above a 3 out of 4 (where 4 is the highest grade).
Goals for 2025 - we'll continue investing accessibility and moving towards our own Net Zero target, and are developing a new Net Zero service.

Director Foreword by Paul Adderley and Lisa Kaiffer - 2023 saw our 4 Day working week pilot as well as us becoming a Disability Confident Leader. It's been a big year for the company!
Our Accomplishments - a successful 4 Day Working Week Pilot, becoming a Disability Confident Leader, and Expanding our Team to 6 for 2024.
Project Delivery Highlights - Being the 1st ranked supplier for Business Energy Scotland, and continuing to deliver Net Zero projects to a wide variety of clients, adding value through our collaborative approach.
Supporting our Clients with Net Zero - we support our clients with a range of services covering carbon accounting, client team engagement and long-term sustainability strategy. We support clients across many different sectors.
Our Collaborations - We're continuing to build on existing strong partnerships. For 2023, this has included Anderson Strathern, AAB People, CarbonChange, IOM, and Ecometrica.
Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) - 2024 will see Phase 3 of ESOS with stricter reporting requirements. We will be supporting our clients through this process and help them not just meet regulatory demands, but also future-proof their business in the process.
Our Progress towards the Sustainable Development goals - as a sustainability consultancy, our key SDGs are Affordable and clean energy, responsible consumption and production, and climate action. We've seen decreases in our results in 2023 for the first two because our project portfolio has shifted to include fewer renewable energy projects.
Our progress towards our chosen target sustainable development goals - Health and Wellbeing, Quality Education, Gender Equality, and Reduced Inequalities. We've seen between 4 and 10 percent increases of our performance across all four goals.
Our chosen improvement actions for our target sustainable development goals - we want to implement paid menopause leave, expand our board of directors beyond owners, and conduct a formal climate risk assessment for Beyond Green among other actions (please see text only file for full list)
Beyond Green and Net Zero - we contribute towards the move towards Net Zero through the support we provide our clients, the way we advocate in our communities, and how we manage our own impacts.
Our Progress towards Net Zero - In 2023, our carbon footprint decreased from 9.30 in 2022 to 7.66 tonnes of CO2e, partially due to us obtaining more detailed carbon data from core suppliers. Our distribution across emission categories has stayed roughly consistent.
Digital Transformation - Using digital tools to streamline our processes is part of what makes our 4 Day Working Week possible. For 2023, we've been supporting clients with carbon accounting software implementation, and rolled our Interview Scenarios in online whiteboard tool Miro for our recruitment process to give candidates a better idea of how we work at Beyond Green.
Accessibility - In 2023, we became a Disability Confident Leader. Our validator was Disability Rights UK, a disabled-led charity advocating for disabled people's rights.
Goals for 2024 - 1. Continue streamlining our processes to get the most out of our 4 day working week, 2. continue integrating accessibility into our project delivery processes, and 3. Make progress on our commitment to move towards Net Zero (current aim: reduce emissions by 20% by 2025)

We're making use of digital tools to streamline our work, including using Miro (an online whiteboard tool) to deliver workshops, and Looker Studio to track KPIs.
Accessibility - in 2022, we've developed a universal design for workshops framework that we will be piloting in 2023. We're a Disability Confident Employer.
Our Goals for 2023: Pilot our 4 Day Working Week, Continue integrating accessibility into our project delivery, and Review our key suppliers to manage our environmental impact.

Our accomplishments - we've expanded our services and knowledge base, adapted to working from home, and made significant progress towards our SDGs.
Project Work - We have been supporting our clients to comply with SECR and to develop Net Zero strategies. Our plans for 2021 see us branching out into new sectors as well as building on existing partnerships.
Zero Waste Scotland Energy Efficiency Business Support - We are one of Zero Waste Scotland's framework contractors and continue to support Scottish SMEs in identifying energy efficiency opportunities. In 2020, we delivered 133 Resource Efficiency Projects, for a total of 0.84 Million £ potential cost savings and 2315 tonnes of CO2 reduction.
Our collaborations - We continue to value and build on our existing relationships while starting new productive collaborations.
Our progress towards our sustainable development goals - our three most impactful SDGs are 7, 12, and 13 due to the nature of our work. We are continuing to do well in these, but we want to challenge ourselves to look beyond them to areas we can improve on.
Our progress towards our target SDGs - Last year, we chose SDGs 4, 5, 8 and 10 as our target SDGs; in 2020, we have managed to improve our score in each of them despite the additional challenges of the year.
Being a value led business, we want to go beyond what our B Corp Assessment and SDG tracker can measure. For us, this currently means focusing on improving our accessibility through our accessibility pilot and by better supporting our team's mental health with our new wellbeing policy.
Beyond Green and Net Zero - as a small business, there are three different ways in which we can support the move towards Net Zero: Our Advocacy, our support of our clients, and our performance. Our advocacy encompasses team members volunteering and using their knowledge to help drive change outside of work. Our support includes the work we do in helping businesses plan for Net Zero.
Our Progress towards Net Zero - in terms of our performance, moving to working from home has reduced our carbon impact from 7 tCO2e in 2019 to 3.7 tCO2e.
