Energy Management System integration and renewable energy assessment.
Beyond Green has worked with the company to integrate the ISO50001 requirements into their existing EMS (ISO 14001), to target energy and fuel efficiency, and to produce an investment appraisal for a 50kWp Solar PV System for board approval.
In addition Beyond Green delivered employee environmental awareness training to encourage behavioural change.
Grange Door Systems became one of the first companies in Scotland to be certified to ISO 50001 for Energy Management in 2012, and one of few companies to be certified to the Carbon Trust Standard for the third time.
Paul, from Beyond Green, is effectively the company’s sustainability manager and his work and their commitment to efficient, low-carbon business practices are reaping rewards.
- Carbon Emissions Reduced by 50% since 2006 with annual cost savings of £20,000.
- Increase in waste recycling to reduced costs
- Fuel efficiency has improved 18% resulting from our training and monitoring programme, saving over £4,000 per year
- Renewable Energy Generation from the solar system has delivered annual bottom-line benefits of £16,000.
Resulting from these actions, the company was runner-up at the 2013 M&S Supplier Awards and Special Commendation for the Energy Award at the VIBES 2013 Environmental Awards.
