Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians Glasgow
In early summer the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians Glasgow, the only Royal College in the UK who welcomes healthcare professionals across the range of medical and surgical specialties, contacted us about tackling their carbon emissions. Climate change and its impacts on the health and wellbeing of every global citizen who their 15,200 members help, is at the core of the Royal College’s values.
We’ve supported the Royal College in their development of a Net Zero Strategy. Here is what they had to say on the experience:
“The Beyond Green team and the supportive approach they undertook with our teams across the College allowed us to create a detailed analysis of our carbon footprint and to identify options and recommendations to reduce our carbon emissions by 40% by 2030 and to achieve carbon net zero status by 2045. This policy was adopted and approved by our College Council in October 2021. This could only have been achieved by the evidenced based approach that Paul and his team undertook with us and to develop our strategic options going forward. An exemplary piece of strategic work, representing excellent value for money for which we are enormously grateful to Paul and his team at Beyond Green.”

B Corp Recertification
We’ve just recertified!
After three years of championing better business, we have once again met the ever rising high standards of social and environmental performance to recertify as a B Corp. We couldn’t be happier to reaffirm our commitment to using our business as a force for good.

Our Commitments
Purple Tuesday 2021
1 in 5 people have a disability or a long-term health condition – we believe that, to be a business for good, we need to make our services accessible to everyone. Therefore, we’ve committed to improve our accessibility and inclusion training for our client facing team members for Purple Tuesday 2021.

Living Wage Employer
We are proud to have been part of the Real Living Wage Community for 4 years, and it is more important than ever that organisations of all sizes pay a real living wage and real hours as we need to build back better by providing meaningful opportunities for people from all backgrounds.

ICAS – Another new client planning ahead for Net Zero
We are delighted to be working with the team at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS). Our work will not only help them develop their Net Zero strategy and roadmap but also to help the team expand their knowledge and capability to take this forward to 2030 and beyond.
The project is particularly close to our founder’s heart being a chartered Accountant himself, and his long held belief that the accountancy profession has such a crucial role to play in building a fairer, greener, and resilient future!
Team changes
First, we’d like to welcome Billy to our team as our new Digital Transformation Assistant! He will be supporting us in streamlining and automating more of our internal processes so we can focus our time on the places we can add the most value and expertise.
‘I am excited to work in a role where I can apply my own skills, learning as I go along and gaining experience by helping contribute towards a growing cause.’ – Billy

Second, we’re saying good-bye to Oliver who is moving on to a new role – Oliver has been with us for nearly 5 years and during this time, he has delivered over 160 projects for Zero Waste Scotland with identified savings of £1.09 million/year and 4,000 tonnes of CO2e emissions reductions, as well as delivering significant direct support for our longer term clients including management system support, Net Zero strategy and carbon assessments. He has been a highly valued team member always aspiring to live our values, contributing to Beyond Green strategy and taking a leading role on Net Zero projects. We wish him all the best for the future and his passion for making a difference!
